GIFFELS-WEBSTER ENGINEERS MOVES ITS DETROIT OFFICE CLOSER TO HOT DEVELOPMENT AREAS
Civil engineering and surveying firm Giffels-Webster Engineers today announced it has relocated its Detroit office at 407 E. Fort St. to Grand Park Centre. The company’s new address is 28 W. Adams, Suite 1200, Detroit, Mich, 48226.
“This location in the heart of the central business district is strategically where we want to be,” said Loren Crandell, president of Giffels-Webster Engineers. “We’re right next to two areas we expect will produce a great deal of development over the next 10 years: the entertainment district and lower midtown area.”
The office, which is scalable for future growth, is led by Scott Clein, a LEED-certified professional engineer and associate with Giffels-Webster.
“Our new building has an urban loft feel that offers a more collaborative environment for the team,” said Clein. “We’ve migrated from a traditional layout with offices and long corridors to an open floor plan featuring workstations with low partitions of glass. The space encourages everyone to brainstorm and bounce ideas off each other.”
Giffels-Webster Engineers has maintained a presence in Detroit for the last 15 years and continues to be committed to urban spaces. The office specializes in urban redevelopment, as well as the health care and educational markets. The staff possesses a distinct expertise in urban infrastructure rehabilitation, and has completed projects like Detroit’s non-motorized transportation master plan, the Westin Book Cadillac, the rehabilitation of the Brush Park neighborhood and road design for Campus Martius.
