DETROIT, March 3, 2014 – Giffels Webster has increased its project workload across southeastern Michigan, resulting in a rise in the company’s hiring. The firm has added four key new employees, including two senior project managers, one lead planner and one senior engineer.
“We continue to focus on providing vibrant, sustainable planning and design for our clients, and this has resulted in growth for our firm,” said Scott Clein, LEED AP, president and partner at Giffels Webster. “In addition to these four hires, we’ve added support staff and engineers at all three of our southeastern Michigan offices, and are augmenting our current service lines to improve our firm’s capabilities.”
New hires include:
Jim Renshaw, PE, PTOE as senior engineer
Renshaw has more than 30 years of comprehensive traffic engineering experience with considerable experience in intersection design, traffic operations, capacity analyses, signal design, signal system design, ITS and transportation planning. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Michigan Technological University. He’s also a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer and a licensed Professional Engineer in Michigan, Arizona, South Carolina and Florida.
Mark Lloyd as lead planner
Lloyd has 25 years of experience in comprehensive urban planning, economic development, ordinance development, enforcement, civil engineering, grant administration and project management in the public and private sectors. He earned a bachelor’s degree in urban planning from California State University. Lloyd is a member of the American Planning Association, National Association of Housing/Redevelopment Officials and American Public Works Association.
Michael Park, PE as senior project manager
Park has more than 18 years of experience in design, construction management and project management of institutional, commercial, industrial and residential site development projects. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Michigan Technological University and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Michigan.
Justin Wellman, PE as senior project manager
Wellman has more than 16 years of civil engineering experience in southeastern Michigan with extensive experience in the design and construction administration of public works and infrastructure projects involving roadway construction and rehabilitation, public water main improvements, and storm drain and sanitary sewer construction. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Michigan Technological University. Wellman is an MDOT-certified Office Technician and a licensed Professional Engineer in Michigan, Arizona and Alabama.
